Give back to Tampa Bay charities in a big way

The holiday season is upon us, and that means in addition to shopping for gifts, it’s time to give back to those who make a difference in our community. Be sure to check out these nonprofits throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Give to the Children
Foundation for Community Driven Innovation:
The Foundation for Community Driven Innovation (FCDI) is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting academic achievement, economic development and the spirit of innovation through inspiring programs, active learning and engaging projects for people of all ages. Donate here.

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. In today’s world girls don’t always have the opportunity to learn in an environment that supports their healthy development. Outside influences, peer pressure and modern culture put unrealistic expectations on girls and distort their view of true success. Girl Scouting provides a safe nurturing environment and positive role models that allows girls to discover their values and themselves, connect with others locally and globally, and take action to make the world a better place. Donate here.

Hope Children’s Home: Hope Children’s Home has rescued nearly 5,000 children between the ages of infant to 18 years of age. The type of children we care for are not juvenile delinquents, but rather children that, through no fault of their own, find themselves in a situation of needed rescue. Some children simply come out of a situation where a parent just needs a little help. Hope Children’s Home receives no State or Federal funding but rather is entirely supported by churches, private individuals, businesses, and organizations. Donate for Giving Tuesday and have your gift matched!

Give to the Animals
Florida Aquarium:
The Florida Aquarium, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is actively engaged in stewardship of the natural environment as a conservation-based attraction with mission programs that include conservation and research, education and outreach. With a keen focus on delivering world-class animal care to thousands of animals, The Florida Aquarium welcomes visitors to experience a wide variety of aquatic and terrestrial animals with the goal of building awareness and inspiring action for species and habitat conservation. For edutainment, guests will also explore complex ecosystems, engage with interactive and informational exhibits and search for wild dolphins in Tampa Bay. More than a must-see attraction, The Florida Aquarium is working to protect and restore our blue planet through conservation efforts that included ground-breaking research and rescue efforts that help restore Florida’s coral and sea turtle populations. Donate here.

Pet Pals Animal Shelter: Pet Pals Animal Shelter’s mission is to rescue dogs and cats from shelters that may otherwise be euthanized due to time limitations, illness, injuries or lack of socialization and training. They are dedicated to educating the public about the pet overpopulation crisis, the importance of spaying/neutering and responsible pet ownership. Donate here.

Southeastern Guide Dogs: Southeastern Guide Dogs transforms lives by creating and nurturing extraordinary partnerships between people and dogs. The organization operates the most advanced training facilities of any service dog organization in the world. Their experts breed, raise, and train elite working dogs—including guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs—and provide life-changing services for people with vision loss, veterans with disabilities, and children with significant challenges such as vision loss or the loss of a parent in the military. All services are provided at no cost to clients. They rely 100% on private donations. Donate for Giving Tuesday and have your gift matched!
